Speakers / Wall Mount Speakers

Wall Mount Speakers.

Commercial wall mount PA speakers from 6W to 60W with 70V-120V line taps, 3in to 8in woofers and water-resistant models for schools, offices and public spaces.

About wall mount speakers

A wall mount speaker puts sound where the listeners are without needing a ceiling void to hide in. That makes it the default choice for corridors, workshops, halls, covered walkways and any room with an exposed, high or structural ceiling.

Every wall speaker in this range is a constant-voltage design with 70V-120V taps, so a single amplifier and one pair of cables can feed a whole run of them. Rated power spans 6W to 60W, with woofers from 3 inches to 8 inches and sensitivity between 89 dB and 93 dB.

Several models — SYS-401, SYS-501 and SYS-601 — are specified as water resistant, which extends the range to covered outdoor areas and washdown-adjacent industrial spaces.

How to choose wall mount speakers

01

Start from the tap setting, not the rated power

Most models here offer several taps — the SYS-106 runs at 5W, 10W, 20W or 40W. The tap you set is what the speaker actually draws from the amplifier, so a 40W speaker turned down to 10W only costs 10W of your power budget. Specify the speaker for the coverage you need, then set the tap for the level the room needs.

02

Match woofer size to the distance you need to cover

A 3 or 4 inch model such as the SYS-603 or SYS-104 suits a small office, a corridor or a shop. A 5.25 inch model such as the SYS-105 or SYS-205 covers a classroom comfortably. For a hall, a workshop or a large open area, the 6.5 and 8 inch models — SYS-106, SYS-206, SYS-208 — carry further and hold intelligibility at the back of the room.

03

Check the enclosure material against the environment

PP and ABS enclosures cover almost all indoor use. Where there is moisture, condensation or an exposed but covered location, choose one of the water-resistant models. Pure virgin ABS models such as the WS-628 and the SYS-401 series hold up better to sunlight and temperature swings than standard plastics.

04

Mount high, and angle down

Wall speakers should sit above head height and be angled towards the listening area rather than fired straight along the wall. That keeps direct sound on the audience and off the opposite wall, which is where reflections and intelligibility problems start.

Common questions

01What wattage wall mount speaker do I need?

For background music and announcements in an office or classroom, 10W to 20W per speaker is typical. Corridors and halls with more ambient noise usually run 20W to 40W. Workshops, large halls and outdoor covered areas justify the 40W and 60W models. Because these are multi-tap speakers, you can install a higher-rated model and run it at a lower tap.

02How many wall mount speakers can one amplifier drive?

Add up the tap setting of every speaker and keep the total below the amplifier's rated output, leaving around 20-30% headroom. A 250W amplifier will comfortably run twelve speakers tapped at 20W, or twenty tapped at 10W.

03Can wall mount speakers be used outdoors?

The water-resistant models — SYS-401, SYS-501 and SYS-601 — are suitable for covered outdoor areas such as verandas, walkways and porches. For open landscaped areas with no cover, the garden speaker range is the correct choice.

04What is the difference between the SYS-100, SYS-200 and SYS-600 series?

They are different enclosure designs covering overlapping power ratings. Compare the dimensions, woofer size and tap options on each product page — for example the SYS-106 and SYS-206 are both 40W with a 6.5 inch woofer, but the SYS-206 is the narrower, taller cabinet.
