Speakers / Garden Speakers

Garden Speakers.

Outdoor garden speakers from 15W to 60W in weather-resistant PP enclosures, styled to blend into landscaped areas, parks, resorts and outdoor venues.

About garden speakers

Garden speakers are designed to be heard and not seen. The enclosures are shaped and coloured to sit among planting rather than on a wall, which is what makes them workable in landscaped grounds, resort gardens, parks and outdoor dining areas.

All models use PP plastic enclosures suited to outdoor exposure, and all run on 70V-120V taps so they extend an existing 100V line rather than needing their own system. Rated power runs from 15W up to the 60W LD-301, with sensitivity from 92 dB to 94 dB.

How to choose garden speakers

01

Use more speakers at lower power

Outdoors there are no walls to reflect sound back, so level drops off quickly with distance. Several speakers spread through an area at modest power will always sound better than one loud speaker trying to cover everything — and will annoy the neighbours considerably less.

02

Match the finish to the planting

The range covers black/green, grey/yellow and grey finishes. Choosing the finish that disappears into the surrounding planting is most of the installation design.

03

Step up in power for large open areas

The 15W-25W models suit garden paths, seating areas and courtyards. For a large lawn, an open park area or anywhere with significant background noise, the 60W LD-301 with its 6 inch injection-moulded PP cone and 94 dB sensitivity carries considerably further.

Common questions

01Do garden speakers need a special amplifier?

No. They run on the same 70V-120V constant-voltage line as indoor wall and ceiling speakers, so they can be added as another branch of an existing PA system.

02How weatherproof are they?

The enclosures are PP plastic designed for outdoor landscape use. As with any outdoor installation, cable joints and the amplifier itself must stay under cover, and connections should be made in a sealed enclosure.

03How far apart should garden speakers be placed?

Closer than indoors. Without walls to contain the sound, spacing of 8 to 12 metres along a path or seating area keeps the level consistent without any one speaker having to be intrusive.
