About ceiling speakers
Ceiling speakers disappear into the building. In any space with a false ceiling they are the natural choice: coverage lands evenly from overhead, nothing occupies wall space, and there is no visual clutter at eye level.
The range runs from 6W compact units for small offices and washrooms up to a 50W coaxial model with a silk diaphragm tweeter for spaces where the music matters as much as the announcements. Frequency response spans 100 Hz-15 kHz on the entry models to 55 Hz-20 kHz on the CLS-968.
All models are 70V-120V constant-voltage designs with multiple taps, so a single 100V line can serve an entire floor.

How to choose ceiling speakers
Space them by ceiling height, not by floor area
A ceiling speaker covers roughly a circle whose diameter scales with how far it is above the listeners' ears. In a standard 2.7 m office ceiling, speakers every 4 to 5 metres give even coverage for speech and background music. Higher ceilings need either wider spacing with more power per speaker, or a switch to pendant speakers.
Choose a coaxial tweeter where music matters
The basic paper-cone models — CS-623, CS-03A, CS-03B, CS-05A — are ideal for paging and announcements. Where the system also carries background music, the coaxial models such as the CLS-585, CLS-718B, CLS-885 and CLS-968 add a dedicated tweeter and extend the top end considerably.
Confirm the cutout before you order
Ceiling speakers are specified by overall diameter and by the hole they need. The CLS-585, for instance, requires a 163 mm install hole in a 186 mm overall body. Check this against the ceiling tile or plasterboard you are cutting into, and against any obstruction in the void above.
Iron or ABS
Iron-cased models are robust and cost-effective for utility areas. Pure virgin ABS models are lighter, easier to handle overhead and better suited to humid environments. Both are available across similar power ratings.

01How many ceiling speakers do I need per room?
As a starting point in a standard-height office or classroom ceiling, allow one speaker for every 16 to 25 square metres for background music and speech. Rooms with high ambient noise, or where every seat needs clear speech, should be spaced more closely.
02What size hole do ceiling speakers need?
It varies by model and is listed on each product page — the CLS-585 needs a 163 mm cutout, while the compact CS-623 is a 104 mm body. Always work from the published install hole dimension rather than the overall diameter.
03Can ceiling speakers and wall speakers share an amplifier?
Yes. Both are 70V-120V constant-voltage designs, so they can sit on the same 100V line as long as the total of all tap settings stays within the amplifier's rated output.
04Are ceiling speakers loud enough for a large hall?
For background music and paging, yes. For a hall used for assemblies or presentations where speech has to carry over a crowd, wall mount speakers angled at the audience — or passive cabinets on stands — will hold intelligibility better than overhead coverage alone.
