What to know about microphones
Syskonics microphones are built around speech: presentations, teaching, worship, meetings and public address, rather than studio multitracking. The range splits cleanly into wired models, where reliability and cost matter most, and UHF wireless systems, where the speaker needs to move.
Within the wired range there are handheld dynamic microphones, headset and lavalier condensers for hands-free use, gooseneck and table units for conference rooms, and studio-style condensers for recording and streaming.
The wireless range runs on UHF across 610-865 MHz depending on model, with 16 to 32 selectable channels and working ranges from 30 m up to 100 m.

01Should I choose a dynamic or a condenser microphone?
Dynamic microphones are more robust, need no power and reject room noise well, which suits handheld use on a loud stage. Condensers are more sensitive and more detailed, which suits headset, lavalier, gooseneck and recording use — but they need phantom power or a battery, and they pick up more of the room.
02How many wireless microphones can I use at once?
Each wireless system occupies its own frequency, so the practical limit is the number of selectable channels and the local RF environment. The 16- and 32-channel systems here allow several units in one room; the SYS-1004H is a four-channel system in a single receiver, and the SYS-1000H conference system supports up to 150 microphones.
03What causes microphone feedback and how do I stop it?
Feedback happens when a microphone hears its own amplified sound. Moving the microphone behind the speakers, using a directional pattern, and lowering gain all help. Where the room itself is the problem, a DSP feedback suppressor such as the XTR 6.0 handles it automatically.
